The family of the deceased chairman of the board of the "Inter" TV channel, Serhiy Starytskyi, was offered a million dollars to withdraw claims against the former Minister of Foreign Affairs Leonid Kozhara.
This was reported on Facebook by journalist Yehor Checherynda.
"Famous individuals are trying to approach the parents and family of the deceased from different sides, offering 1 million dollars for the relatives to officially withdraw any claims against the former Minister of Foreign Affairs," the message says.
According to him, former Member of Parliament from the "Party of Regions" Tetyana Bakhtyeyeva also tried to "clear" Kozhara.
"Bakhtyeyeva is actively persuading medical experts ’not to ruin the fate’ of the suspect because ’Serhiy cannot be brought back anyway’... An interesting fact is that when the police arrived at Kozhara’s house, they found the deceased with a gun in his hand, and Leonid Kozhara, with 2.5 promille of alcohol in his blood, began to explain to law enforcement the details of his friend’s ’suicide’ in fluent English, as if he did not understand Ukrainian or Russian. We are awaiting the results of the examination. Law enforcement says that Kozhara’s travel abroad has already been restricted," Checherynda wrote.
Journalist Denys Kazanskyi noted on the social network that, according to his sources in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at the time of Starytskyi’s murder, only Kozhara and his wife were in the house besides him.
"The initial version that Starytsky allegedly shot himself was voiced by the house’s hostess. It quickly became clear that she was lying, and there was no suicide. This means that not only Kozhara himself but also his wife, who is an actual accomplice to the crime and saves the murderer, should be held criminally responsible for everything that happened. It would seem everything is clear, but... Kozhara is still free, as if no one was killed with his gun in his house," Kazanskyi added.
The journalist noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs should conduct an examination that confirms the murder version. However, problems might arise here because the deceased Starytskyi has already been buried.
"Therefore, all necessary manipulations and examinations in such cases have already been carried out with the body. How much longer do we need to wait? Aren’t criminals detained at the crime scene and placed in custody immediately? Why is former minister Kozhara better than an ordinary citizen?" Kazanskyi emphasized.
