Law enforcement officials exposed a Ministry of Defense official for corruption, who in 2022-2023 bought and “transferred” real estate and an elite vehicle fleet for UAH 14 million to his common-law wife.
This was reported by the SSU, the PGO and the National Police.
Officially, the agencies do not name the official, but according to open sources, the position of the head of the Defence Ministry’s Main Department of Capital Investments is held by Yuriy Lisovskyi.
"The Security Service, with the personal assistance of the Minister of Defence, exposed the head of the Defence Ministry’s Main Directorate of Capital Investments for corruption.
According to the investigation, during 2022-2023, the suspect illegally enriched himself by almost UAH 14 million.
He later used the money to buy two apartments in new buildings, a garage and a parking space in Kyiv."
The official, born in 1962, also bought three premium cars, including LEXUS and BMW. He then "re-registered" them to his common-law wife.
At the same time, the defendant issued a power of attorney to manage this property.
In addition, he failed to declare more than UAH 3 million, and another UAH 3.5 million was kept by his common-law wife.
The official was informed of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code: Art. 368-5 (illegal enrichment); Part 1 of Article 366-2 (declaration of false information).
The issue of choosing a preventive measure is currently being decided. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
