NABU is investigating a case against ex-deputy head of the OP Andriy Smyrnov

NABU is investigating a case under several articles of the criminal code against the ex-deputy head of the OP Andriy Smyrnov, who was fired yesterday.

This follows from a request that was sent by SAPO to the Agency for the Search and Management of Assets Obtained by Crime.

In addition to the article illegal enrichment (Article 368-5), which we wrote about yesterday, detectives are investigating the case under Art. 366-2 (declaration of false information) and Art. 368 (accepting an offer or receiving an undue benefit).

In particular, an episode is being investigated related to a photo published in the media in which Smyrnov is flying on a private plane with a number of persons subject to sanctions by the National Security and Defence Council (NABU is investigating who paid for this flight, which was not indicated by Smyrnov in the declaration as a gift). Information is also being investigated that Smirnov could have helped with the withdrawal of the assets of these individuals on the eve of the imposition of sanctions on them.

As for illegal enrichment, the fact of acquisition of movable and immovable property by Smyrnov and his brother in 2020-2023 in the amount of almost 14 million hryvnia is being investigated.
