Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, more than 90 criminal proceedings on facts of collaboration have been registered in the Khmelnytskyi region. In a third of them, supporters of the “Russian world” have already been convicted.
This was reported by the deputy head of the Khmelnytskyi regional prosecutor’s office, Oleksandr Sambor.
“Under the procedural leadership of the department for supervision of compliance with laws, the regional security body of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor’s Office sent 28 indictments for collaboration activities under Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine to the court. 23 collaborators have already been convicted,” Sambor said.
In addition, according to him, SSU investigators in the region are investigating another 41 criminal proceedings of this category.
All those convicted, as the prosecutor noted, supported the Russian Federation and publicly denied armed aggression. Within the limits of the sanction, they are deprived of the right to hold certain positions in state authorities and local self-government.
“Collaborators preferably published such public calls on social networks, most often in those banned in Ukraine. However, it is social networks that enemy agents often use to find supporters and maintain contact with them. There is an example with a 48-year-old Khmelnytsky woman who communicated with an agent in this way FSB of the Russian Federation and passed on to him information about the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the location of critical infrastructure facilities in the Khmelnitsky region. For these services she received funds from the Russian special service. She actively praised the occupiers on social networks. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of all property," he said.
He added that in just two years of the great war, more than 350 war crimes were registered in the Khmelnytskyi region.
