The Ukrainian Armed Forces spoke about repelling a night Russian air attack


The Russian invaders used 24 Shahed-type kamikaze drones, as well as an X-59 missile, for an air strike on Ukraine that night. Air defence forces and means destroyed more than half of the enemy’s attack drones and air missiles.

This was reported on the Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Telegram channel of the Air Force.

The military command said in the morning report on April 8 that they managed to shoot down 17 suicide bombers.

“At night, the Russian occupiers again attacked Ukraine, using 24 Shahed-type UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces and means destroyed 17 attack UAVs,” the General Staff said in a statement.

As the Air Force said, the Russians launched an X-59 aircraft missile from the airspace of the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhya region.

And the enemy launched the “martyrs” from Cape Chauda in Crimea, the Russian regions of Kursk and Yeisk.

“Fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare equipment were involved in repelling the air attack,” the sky defenders reported.

As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, the Ukrainian Defence Forces shot down:

guided aircraft missile X-59 in the Dnipropetrovsk region;

17 attack drones in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytskyi and Zhytomyr regions.
