Zelenskyy: Russia will receive proposals for peace through intermediaries

Ukraine hopes that during the fourth round of work on the peace plan, real developments will appear. After this, these real steps will be conveyed to the Russian Federation by representatives of an unnamed country.

There will be no Russian representatives at the Peace Summit in Switzerland, at which Ukraine’s partners will discuss a plan to end the war. However, the Kremlin will receive details of a possible agreement - such a mechanism is provided. The position of Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the peace summitwas reported on the European Pravda portal.

Zelenskyy spoke with journalists from the Axel Springer SE publishing group. The politician explained why the Russian Federation was not invited to the peace summit to end the Russian-Ukrainian war. The main reason is fears that Moscow may block some initiatives that will be voiced during the partners’ communication.

“We need to make sure they don’t block anything,” he said.

During the summit they plan to work out some details of the implementation of the peace plan that the Ukrainian president proposed a year ago. When they are ready, they will be handed over to Russia. At the same time, Ukrainians will not contact Russians, Zelenskyy emphasized: proposals will be conveyed by “representatives of the continents.” The politician did not specify what exactly he meant—he did not name the continent or country.

“Of course, some parties to the negotiations, some representatives of the continents will present this plan to Russian representatives,” the president said.

Journalists asked whether Zelenskyy really does not plan to see Russian President Vladimir Putin in the future. In response, the Ukrainian president repeated that “Putin is a murderer.” He also added: he hopes that during the Peace Summit they will create a real plan for ending the war, and not just talk.

“We will come to a common opinion, we will form a common point of view of countries that really want peace. Not just talk, but real peace,” journalists quoted Zelenskyy’s words.
