Centrenergo answered whether it is possible to restore Trypilska TPP

The Trypilska Thermal Power Plant in the Kyiv region, destroyed by a Russian missile strike, is subject to restoration, and there are already proposals from European countries to provide equipment.

Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Centrenergo Andriy Hota told Voice of America about this.

“Anything subject to restoration, last summer there was a similar picture, when these units were not repaired and at some stations did not work at all. That is, we can restore everything. We have a very good team, a very motivated recovery team,” Hota said.

At the same time, he noted that it is almost impossible to do this without international partners. But European countries have already promised power engineers to provide transformers, turbines and other equipment.

“But again, without a sufficient number of missiles for air defense, this will be useless, to put it mildly,” Hota said.

Trypillya Thermal Power Plant provided electricity to about 3 million people and was the largest supplier of electricity in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions. According to Hota, while consumers will not experience significant power outages, however, outages could begin closer to the summer, and the most difficult period will be in winter.
