AFU told what is happening near the villages of Solovyove and Ocheretyne

Heavy fighting continues in the area of Ocheretyne village, Pokrovsk district. Despite the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not control a third of its territory, it is under constant fire control.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the commentary by Nazar Voloshyn, speaker of the OK “Khortytsia”, during the telethon.

As he explained, in order for the Russian Federation to be able to break through the Ukrainian defense in the Novobakhmutivka-Ocheretyne direction, the occupiers introduced additional reserves there - the 55th separate motorized rifle brigade of the Russian Federation.

“Now two-thirds of this settlement (Ocheretyne - ed.) is under our control. Part of the point into which the enemy broke through is under our fire control. The enemy is blocked and measures are ongoing to drive him out of there. Heavy fighting continues there, but the situation is under control control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," Voloshyn said.

In the village of Solovyove, as the speaker noted, the situation is the same - approximately two-thirds of the village is under the control of Ukrainian forces.

"Hot" front directions

According to the speaker, the hottest areas are Novopavlivka, Bakhmut and Avdiivka.

"The situation is controlled by the defence forces. The Russian army keeps trying to storm the positions of Ukrainian troops along the entire frontline. The goal is to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions," he stated.

The situation in the Ocheretyne area

The situation in the area of Ocheretyne has been escalating in recent days. A report by the Institute for the Study of War on 27 April cited a comment by spokesman Nazar Voloshyn that the Ukrainian Armed Forces currently controlled two-thirds of Ocheretyne and were preventing further Russian advance into the area.

On 25 and 26 April, some Russian ’military commanders’ claimed that Ukrainian troops had allegedly withdrawn from Ocheretyne to Arkhangelske (north-east of Ocheretyne and north-west of Avdiivka). However, there was disagreement on this point, as some of them reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces still retained positions in northwestern Ocheretyne.
