The village of Monachynivka near Kupyansk was hit by a high-explosive bomb weighing one and a half tonnes, Kharkiv police report.
“Everything around us shook, as if an earthquake had started. With one blow, an entire street was destroyed. It was the first time that weapons of such power were used against us,” writes the head of the local investigative department, Serhiy Bolvinov.
An elderly woman died.
The FAB was equipped with a special module so that the bomb could glide in the air after being launched from an aircraft.
