Shmyhal: The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated more than 7 billion hryvnia for the restoration of energy system


During the meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 7 billion 168 million for the restoration of the Ukrainian energy system.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this, the Government Portal reports.

“These funds will be used to purchase equipment to update the high-voltage network, as well as to better synchronize the energy system of Ukraine and the EU. We are grateful to the World Bank Group, which provided grants for the implementation of this project,” the Prime Minister noted.

According to him, the situation in the energy system of Ukraine is one of the most difficult, so the government is calling for energy savings.

“The situation in the energy sector is now one of the most difficult. Network and generation repairs are ongoing 24/7,” he informed .

According to the Prime Minister, in April the state was forced to import electricity by a third more than in March.

The head of government emphasized that Ukrenergo constantly attracts help from neighboring countries.

“Once again I call for saving electricity, especially in the evening,” Shmyhal emphasized.
