Putin appointed Sergei Shoigu as Secretary of the Russian Security Council


Putin dismissed Nikolai Patrushev from the post of Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation “in connection with his transfer to another job.”

Instead of him, Sergei Shoigu, who served as the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, was appointed to this position.

Gerasimov will remain as Chief of the General Staff.
