Fraudsters sold 26 cars imported for free for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Mykolaiv


Vehicles were imported into our country free of charge and registered according to a simplified procedure.

In Mykolaiv, law enforcement officers exposed a father and son who sold 26 cars that were brought to Ukraine free of charge - as humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.

According to the pre-trial investigation, the defendants received cars from a legal entity from Europe for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as humanitarian aid. Vehicles were imported into our country free of charge and registered according to a simplified procedure.

The attackers posted advertisements on the Internet for the sale of cars at an affordable price. Among the buyers were military personnel who needed cars at the front. The pre-trial investigation believes that in this way the defendants sold 26 cars brought to Ukraine free of charge as humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Police investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal use of humanitarian aid, charitable donations or gratuitous assistance for profit). The maximum penalty under this article is 7 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The defendants have already been informed of suspicion of committing crimes under Part 3 of Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court chose a measure of restraint for them in the form of detention with the possibility of bail. For a son, the deposit is UAH 6 million, and for a father – UAH 3 million.
