Since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have carried out 96 attacks along the entire length of the front, most of all in the Pokrovsk direction; Ukrainian defenders are holding the line.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Facebook , publishing operational information as of 19:00 on Thursday, June 20.
In the Kharkiv sector, Russian troops attacked the Kharkiv sector with six guided aerial bombs from the directions of Belgorod and Shebekino. The areas of Vovchansk, Neskuchne and Liptsy were subjected to enemy bombardment.
Today, the invaders conducted unsuccessful assault operations in Vovchansk and near Tykhyne.
According to preliminary data, Russian troop losses in the Kharkiv sector since the beginning of the day have reached 59 killed and wounded. Several more invaders surrendered.
Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest. Fighting is currently taking place in 14 locations, including in the areas of Sokol, Vozdvyzhenka and Novooleksandrivka.
The Russian army is also using aviation in this area of the frontline. Today, Yevhenivka, Vovche and Nova Poltavka came under attack with guided aerial bombs.
In total, Russian troops attacked in the Pokrovsk sector 34 times over the last day. The General Staff said that Ukrainian defenders are "holding back the invaders, inflicting significant losses".
It has been preliminarily established that the Russian army has lost 295 people in this area of the frontline over the past 24 hours, 99 of whom were irretrievably wounded. The Defence Forces also destroyed three enemy armoured vehicles, two of its cannons, a piece of special equipment and a ground control station for drones, and damaged three more armoured vehicles and four artillery systems.
In the afternoon, Russian troops made two more unsuccessful attempts to attack Ukrainian positions in the Kurakhove and Prydniprovsky directions.
In the Prydniprovsky sector, the invaders also attacked the areas of Novotyanka, Ivanivka and Mykolaivka with six guided aerial bombs.
In other areas the situation has not changed significantly.
“The defence forces continue to contain the enemy and inflict maximum losses on him along the entire front line,” the General Staff noted.
