The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe adopted a resolution in which it recognized the actions of the Russian Federation as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
Member of the parliamentary delegation Pavel Frolov reported this on Telegram.
“The OSCE PA adopted a resolution condemning Russia’s 10-year armed aggression against Ukraine, which recognized the actions of the military-political leadership of Russia and its armed forces during a full-scale invasion as genocide of the Ukrainian people,” the statement says.
The document also defines the decolonization of Russia as a necessary prerequisite for the establishment of lasting peace.
The resolution calls on the 53 OSCE participating States to make efforts to de-occupy Crimea and all Ukrainian territories seized by Russian invaders by supporting the Peace Formula and the Crimean Platform. The document also calls on OSCE states to create a Special Tribunal to hold Russia accountable for crimes committed during the aggressive war against Ukraine, as well as to conduct international and national investigations into mass atrocities, murders, torture and rape committed by Russian soldiers.
In addition, the document emphasizes the need to quickly launch a mechanism for using frozen Russian assets in favor of Ukraine, notes the importance of supporting the creation of an International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, as well as ensuring the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians. The resolution also calls for a ban on the import of Russian liquefied gas into the European Union, re-export and transit through EU ports.
