According to Nazar Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Khortytsia unit, the enemy mostly uses frontal attacks for assaults. The goal of the Russians is to surround the positions of Ukrainian defenders, block the logistics, and then push them out.
Russian occupiers do not stop active assaults in eastern Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about the Donbas, namely the city of Chasiv Yar, where the enemy is trying to advance from the Toretsk direction. The speaker of the operational-strategic group of troops (OSGV) "Khortytsia" Nazar Voloshin told Suspilne about this in a commentary.
According to him, the Russians are actively using frontal attacks on this section of the front. In addition, the enemy is putting pressure from Horlivka on the settlements of Shumy and New York, which he wants to take control of. The assaults have not stopped throughout the last week.
“There are also mechanized assaults on the front of Chasiv Yar, also in small groups, up to five fighters, trying to break into the Novyi and Kanal microdistricts. For several days now, the enemy has moved from a different direction, from Toretsky to Chasiv Yar,” said Nazar Voloshyn.
Separately, the representative of the OSGV "Khortytsia" added that the Russians in general have stepped up their offensive in the Toretskaya area and are setting the same goal as in Bakhmut, Avdiivka and other cities of Donbas - to surround the positions of Ukrainian defenders, block logistics, and only after that try to oust them, leveling the front line.
