State Customs Service sold senior positions for $1.7 million

NABU and SAPO prevented an attempt by a group of people to “put the right people” in leadership positions in the territorial bodies of the State Customs Service to organize corruption schemes.

1 million dollars offered for the post of head of the Lviv customs, and the positions of the heads of the Volyn and Chernivtsi customs were valued at 500 thousand dollars and 200 thousand dollars respectively.

In addition, the group members hoped that the leadership of the State Customs Service “would not notice” corruption schemes at these customs in exchange for half of the illegally obtained income.

Suspicion was reported to two participants in the crime, including its initiator.
