Zelenskyy met for the first time with the new British prime minister

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had his first meeting with the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, in Washington.

Starmer spoke about this before the Euro-Atlantic Council meeting.

Arriving at the NATO summit, Starmer said he had just had a "very good meeting" with President Zelenskyy, where he was "very clear that a change of government in Britain would have no impact on support for Ukraine."

He said that his political force was the only one in support while still in Ukraine, and also recalled that he spoke with Zelenskyy on the phone immediately after assuming the powers of prime minister last week.

According to Starmer, during the conversation they discussed the further needs of Ukraine.

“It is important for us today to make sure, together with our allies, that there is agreement on this support and that it must be strengthened,” the British Prime Minister said.

"This is also the message to Putin: NATO’s resolve is stronger than ever, and NATO is more united than ever in history, and is fully aware of what Russian aggression is," Starmer said.
