Mobilisation in Ukraine: Are MIA pensioners subject to mobilisation

Due to full-scale Russian aggression in Ukraine, general mobilization continues. In this regard, those liable for military service are drafted into the army to defend the country.

In particular, pensioners of law enforcement agencies should also register with the military.

Will Ministry of Internal Affairs pensioners be mobilized?

For now, even some pensioners can be mobilized into the Ukrainian Defence Forces, Defence Ministry spokesman Dmytro Lazutkin said during the telethon.

“Civil servants who are liable for military service and do not have a reservation are subject to mobilization on a general basis. The point is that these people are also registered with the military and can also be recruited to the Defence Forces,” he said.

According to the new legislation on mobilization, pensioners of security forces are also required to be registered with the military.

We are talking about those who retired after serving in the Ministry of Defence, National Police, etc.
