Several men attacked Ukrainian border guards, stole weapons and grenades, and then made their way to Romania, PresaSM reports.
Romania sent a helicopter to search for the fugitives, and they were detained; they were hiding in Romanian villages.
Now they are asking for "political asylum", local media reports.
