According to Ukrainian military personnel, the occupiers are advancing in the Toretsk direction thanks to a large number of reserve personnel.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces control 20% of the New York settlement in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region, mainly in the northern part of the city.
This was reported to Ukrainska Pravda by interlocutors from the leadership of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade and the Luhansk OTG.
"We have our people in New York, holding the line. We control about 20%," said one of the interlocutors.
He clarified that Russian occupation forces are moving forward because they have a significant number of reserves.
"We kill, they come. Unfortunately, we don’t have such reserves," the source noted.
In addition, Ukrainian defenders told journalists about certain problems with the existing personnel.
"In the direction of New York and neighboring Toretsk, there are problems with the motivation of the military and a fairly high rate of unauthorized abandonment of the unit (UAU)," the report says.
The publication’s interlocutors also noted that, having overcome part of New York, the Russians are actively moving towards the next settlement – Nelipivka.
