The Russian army shelled Sumy region 113 times during the day on August 21. As a result of the attacks, 5 people were injured, residential buildings were damaged.

Over the course of 24 hours, 256 explosions occurred in the region.
"Sumy, Khotyn, Yunakiv, Myropil, Bilopillya, Krasnopil, Velykopysariv, Putivl, Novoslobid, Berezivka, Hlukhiv, Esman, Shalyhyne, Druzhkivka, Seredyno-Buda, Znob-Novhorod communities were shelled," the JMA said in a statement.
Russians dropped 46 mines on the territory of the Krasnopilska community. Three civilians were injured as a result of the shelling. In addition, the enemy attacked the community with artillery (55 explosions), dropped explosive devices from UAVs (2 explosions), attacked with a CAB (1 explosion) and FPV drones (5 explosions).
In the Hlukhiv community, the occupiers carried out a shelling with FPV drones. A total of 18 explosions occurred. As a result of the attacks, 1 civilian was injured. The community was also hit with grenade launchers.
The Druzhkivka community was also subjected to FPV drone attacks - 19 explosions were recorded - and artillery shelling (1 explosion). One civilian was injured. An airstrike by CABs was also recorded (2 explosions).
