Ministry of Defence is developing the Veteran+ application

The Ministry of Defence is launching two important infrastructure projects to reintegrate veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war into civilian life, and is also developing the Veteran+ app together with other ministries.

This was announced by Defence Minister Rustem Umerov during the VII International Veterans Forum "Ukraine. Veterans. Unity".

"We understand that returning to civilian life after military action is a difficult process, so the Ministry has created a psychological support department responsible for reintegration into civilian life. We are now starting two important infrastructure projects. The first is the reconstruction of military hospitals. Our goal is to renovate hospitals in 12 cities in the next two years," Umerov noted.

According to him, the first stage of reconstruction of military hospitals will take place in Dnipro, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Vinnitsa, and the second - in Zhytomyr, Lutsk, Lviv, Poltava, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi. It is also planned to improve Ukrainian military medicine with the support of Western partners.

"The second important project is barrier-free. It will be implemented in cooperation with communities. We want every city, regardless of its size, to become barrier-free. Our goal is to create equal opportunities for everyone without physical, social and informational obstacles", which will allow veterans to comfortably integrate into civilian life. We will present this large-scale and ambitious project in the near future.

He noted that the next step of the Ministry of Defence, together with other ministries, is to develop the Veteran+ application.

"This is a service for providing state services to veterans. It is already in the process of development, and we are using the best international practices here. We are striving to create programs for the rehabilitation and support of the military, existing in the G7 and G20 countries. Our international partners are ready to support us in this," Umerov emphasized.
