In the Kursk region, Ukrainian troops are storming the building of a women’s prison in Malaya Loknya, which Russian forces have turned into a "fortress" and are putting up "fierce resistance," Bild reports.
The village is located 14 km from the border, it is almost completely surrounded by Ukrainian units, and the Russians are holding the defense in the colony.
Several dozen Russian soldiers have taken up positions around it, erecting barricades and using the prison’s watchtowers as firing points, while the massive buildings serve as a defense against Ukrainian attacks. Even the prison’s guards are believed to be involved in the defense.
Ukrainian troops are firing at them from German Marder infantry fighting vehicles and attacking the guard tower at the entrance with drones.
There were about 200 convicted women in the colony; it is unknown whether they remain inside.
