On Tuesday, September 10, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiha.
The press service of the President’s Office reported this.
During the ceremony, Zelenskyy spoke about the tasks set for the new head of the foreign policy department.
Thus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the leadership of Sybiha should strengthen cooperation with both Ukraine’s neighboring countries and with the states of Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Zelenskyy also noted that the urgent needs of the front and ensuring the stability of the entire state are an important issue.
"Our partners must know every need we have and every opportunity for cooperation with them. Providing for the front, joint defense production, reconstruction in Ukraine, strengthening sanctions against Russia and using Russian assets for the sake of Ukrainian defence, supporting our communities abroad - these should be the areas of constant work of every Ukrainian diplomat," he said.
In addition, the new minister must take on the organization of the second Peace Summit.
"Everyone should understand that peace for Ukraine and a fair end to this war is not just a historical mission, but daily and very painstaking work. I am confident that Ukraine is capable of doing this work - winning this war and ensuring peace," Zelenskyy added.
