MPs drive elite cars and do not declare them, - media

People’s deputies of Ukraine during the full-scale war continue to update their car fleets, often registering new cars in the names of their relatives or affiliated companies to avoid declaring them.

In a new investigation, Bihus.Info journalists revealed several cases where politicians use expensive cars that are not included in their official declarations.

For example, deputy from the "Dovira" group Serhiy Minko arrives at parliamentary sessions in a new 2022 BMW X7. The car was purchased in the spring of 2024, when prices for such models started at 90 thousand dollars. This car is not listed in the deputy’s declaration. However, this is not the only new luxury purchase in his car fleet. Journalists recorded that Minko also leaves his suburban residence in a 2023 Mercedes GLE 53 AMG, costing at least 120 thousand dollars. Both cars are registered to the company "Agro Recovery," which belongs to the deputy’s sister, Iryna Hryshyna. This company was registered in April 2024 and specializes in growing grain crops. Since then, expensive cars have begun to be registered to the firm.

In a comment to the media, Serhiy Minko stated that all assets subject to declaration will be included in the declaration for 2024.

A similar situation is observed with another deputy — Serhiy Mandziy from the "Servant of the People" party. He has switched to a new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, costing around 55 thousand dollars, which is registered to the company "Business Systems 2," owned by Mandziy himself, according to the documentation. In response to journalists’ inquiries, the deputy noted that he uses the car on a rental basis and will subsequently reflect the relevant information in the declaration.

Another representative of "Servant of the People," Bohdan Kytsak, also does not declare the car he uses. He was spotted driving a 2023 Toyota RAV4, costing from 36 thousand dollars, registered in his 69-year-old mother’s name. Despite the fact that Kytsak’s mother has not lived in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, she, according to the deputy, bought the car with money obtained from the sale of real estate. Initially, the parliamentarian denied the car’s existence but later confirmed that he would include it in his declaration.

The most expensive car update was made by deputy from the "For the Future" group Anatoliy Urbanskyi. His wife, Olena Urbanska, purchased a new Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG for 8 million hryvnias (about 192 thousand dollars). However, the family’s income in 2023 was half the cost of the car, so it is likely that the funds for the purchase came from family savings. In response to journalists’ inquiries about the appropriateness of such a purchase, Urbanskyi noted that his family also provided charitable assistance to the army and civilians during the war.
