HACC extended the arrest of former Deputy Minister of Energy Kheilo


An investigative judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court has extended the preventive measures against former Deputy Minister of Energy Oleksandr Kheilo and his confidant.

This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

“The High Anti-Corruption Court satisfied the request of the SAPO prosecutor and extended for 2 months the preventive measure in the form of custody for the former Deputy Minister of Energy and his confidant, who were exposed for receiving undue benefits for granting permission to export mining equipment from the front-line zone”

As noted, the investigative judge considered the prosecutor’s arguments and left unchanged the alternative preventive measure in the form of bail amounting to 25 million UAH and 65 million UAH respectively.

The SAPO reminded that on August 12, 2024, the HACC partially satisfied the SAPO’s request and applied a preventive measure to the former Deputy Minister of Energy in the form of custody with the alternative of posting 25 million UAH bail.

Regarding the confidant of the former high-ranking official, the court applied a preventive measure in the form of custody with the alternative of posting 65 million UAH bail.
