Security Service of Ukraine is conducting security measures in Sumy

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) is conducting security measures in Sumy on October 5. They cover the entire territory of the city.

The SSU reports this.

"The Security Service carries out counterintelligence (security) activities on the territory of the city of Sumy. The National Police, the military law enforcement service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard are involved in them," the statement says.

Law enforcement actions, as they say, cover the entire city.

"The goal is to prevent and neutralize threats of intelligence and explosive activities against our state, prevent provocations and increase the safety of citizens in the context of Russian armed aggression against Ukraine," the department added.

What is supposed

SSU officers warn that during the event there may be restrictions on passage and travel along the streets, checking of citizens’ documents and inspection of vehicles.

"If reasonable suspicions arise regarding certain individuals, additional investigations may be conducted," the SSU explains.

In addition, the territory and common areas are inspected to identify prohibited items.

"The SSU asks citizens to be understanding of possible inconveniences and to respond appropriately to the lawful actions and demands of law enforcement officers, to have identity documents with them, and to comply with the curfew," the special service asks.
