This autumn marks 10 years since the start of the "Yatsenyuk’s Wall" project

This fall marks exactly 10 years since the start of the project "European Wall," better known to the public as "Yatsenyuk’s Wall," named after the then Prime Minister of Ukraine, who was the main initiator of this project.

The "Wall" project was intended to protect Ukraine’s border from Russian invasion. More than 1.5 billion hryvnias were allocated for its implementation. The project was surrounded by numerous corruption scandals related to embezzlement of funds during its construction.

In February 2022, when the Russian invasion began, reports on combat activities did not mention the existence of any "Wall" on the Ukrainian-Russian border.

"Yatsenyuk’s Wall" became the subject of numerous memes in Ukrainian social networks, as did many other statements by the former prime minister, such as "bullets in the forehead" or his conversation with Yuliya Tymoshenko after her release from imprisonment.
