Ukraine will receive almost 50 Abrams tanks from Australia

Australia will provide Ukraine with 49 Abrams tanks. They will be delivered as part of a new military support package worth 245 million dollars.

This is reported by ABC.

As noted by the publication, Australia will transfer Abrams tanks to Ukraine, which will soon be retired from the country’s army. The official announcement about the transfer of the tanks is to be made by Australia’s Minister of Defence, Pat Conroy, during the meeting of NATO defence ministers in Brussels.

It is also worth noting that Australia recently received the first of 75 new M1A2 tanks, which will gradually replace the old M1A1 models. The transfer of the tanks required obtaining permission from the United States in accordance with international arms trade regulations.
