Deputy Head of the Central MSEC detained for bribery


The Deputy Head of the Central Medical-Social Expert Commission (MSEC) was detained for bribery for facilitating the obtaining of disability status with the aim of removal from military registration.

This was reported by the National Police and the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the investigation, the official promised for 2,000 dollars to assist a conscripted citizen in obtaining Group II disability, which would allow him to be removed from military registration.

The Prosecutor General’s Office reports that she assured the man that she had resolved similar "issues" several times before and knew how to do it.

Law enforcement officers detained the official while receiving the money.

During the searches, nearly 20,000 dollars, documents related to disability processing, medical documentation, personal files, and other evidence of criminal activity were seized from her.

The official has currently been notified of suspicion of bribery (part 3 of article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). She faces up to eight years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
