Minister of Defence addressed businesses regarding exemption from mobilization

Mobilization in Ukraine must continue to ensure defence. However, the Ministry of Defence is ready to cooperate with businesses regarding exemptions.

This was stated in a statement by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, at the European Business Association.

He noted that the issue of exemptions from mobilization is coordinated jointly with the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and other ministries. The Ministry of Defence provides recommendations on the number of personnel needed to maintain the front, as well as to form operational and strategic reserves.

"We aim to change the paradigm so that service is an honor, not perceived by society as it currently is. That is, ’busification’, TRC, ’very bad’, and the like. These are issues and challenges we face, and they are very complex for us. Therefore, we are trying to revise approaches and principles," said Umerov.

The head of the Ministry of Defence emphasized that mobilization must continue next year to ensure defence and achieve the goals set out in the military strategy.

Umerov stated that the Ministry of Defence is ready to collaborate with businesses on exemption issues. According to him, companies can reach out and argue the necessity of exempting employees.

"Therefore, we will always be open to working with associations. We ask you to contact us and explain, argue how we can help you. Since on our part, as a military component, we can only point out our objectives and tasks. But we hear, as I mentioned, in the summer we already helped create a reserve. However, if more need to be exempted (reserved, - ed.), it is necessary to contact us and discuss together, we will help," he added.
