Umyerov: A military ombudsman will soon appear in Ukraine

A military ombudsman will soon be appointed in Ukraine to protect the rights of service members.

This was announced by Defence Minister Rustem Umyerov during a briefing.

He noted that the Ministry of Defence is already considering several candidates for this position.

«We have been working on proposing a candidate for the position of military ombudsman. This year, we focused on processing a large number of complaints and claims (if I’m not mistaken, we have already processed several thousand). We are currently preparing several candidates to announce who will become the military ombudsman», — he said.

He also emphasized that the Ministry of Defence is committed to a people-oriented approach: the agency aims to protect the rights of the military. Umerov highlighted the importance of cooperation with the High Council of Justice and other law enforcement agencies, as well as with the Main Inspection of the Ministry of Defence to achieve this goal.
