Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umyerov, on the orders of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is already holding meetings with our partners regarding the supply of new missile defence systems to our military – "exactly those that can protect lives from new threats." These are systems capable of combating the enemy’s ballistic missiles "Oreshnik/Kedr."
This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian state in an address to the citizens on the evening of November 22. The video was published on the YouTube channel of the President’s Office.
Zelenskyy mentioned that Ukrainian experts have already established more details regarding the Russian missile that hit the city of Dnipro on November 21.
These details will be provided to the journalists. "The world must know the truth and realize that the only one who does not want peace is Russia," stated the state leader.
He thanked those partners who have already responded to the mentioned Russian shelling but emphasized: "Besides words, we need action."
"When someone starts using other countries not only for terror but also to test their new missiles through terror, it is definitely an international crime.
And from Russia, it is a mockery towards such countries as China, the states of the Global South, some leaders who constantly call for restraint, but in response consistently receive some new escalation from Moscow. Therefore, the world should sound serious in response – so that Putin truly fears expanding the war and feels the real consequences of his actions," stated Zelenskyy.
He also gave a remark to parliament members who canceled their meeting on November 22 due to the threat of a Russian airstrike.
The President stressed: no matter the Russian threat of a missile strike, sirens should not be ignored.
"But when there is no air raid alarm, the state, enterprises, embassies – everyone must work equally. And perceive the information, including from intelligence, precisely as information, not as a permission for a day off. This applies to everyone – from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and other structures and branches of government to management bodies in the regions and communities," said Zelenskyy.
"The siren sounds – we go to shelter. And when there is no siren – we work and serve," he added.
The Kremlin dictator will continue to intimidate because this is how he built his power.
"It is important to respond correctly and do everything so that this war returns home, to Russia, and that they feel what war is like there," noted the President.
Another issue he raised in the address was the appearance of the first list of individuals deprived of state awards and special titles.
"All of them chose to support the criminal war against Ukraine and simply lost their dignity. I don’t even want to mention their names. And they will never be here in Ukraine, so we will remove all ties with Ukraine. The SSU is preparing new proposals for such sanctions," the head of the state explained.
At the end of the address, he thanked our combat brigades, which have proven themselves effectively this week. They are:
– 38th Separate Marine Brigade;
– 39th Separate Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment;
– 68th Separate Jager Brigade;
– 102nd, 108th, 124th, 126th Separate Territorial Defence Brigades;
– 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade;
– 425th Separate Assault Battalion.
Separately, the President expressed gratitude to all Ukrainian units in the areas of the Kursk operation.
