Why is Toretsk so important for the occupiers, — OTG "Luhansk"

For the enemy, a populated area where battles are fought for every building has significant media and psychological importance, which explains the determination of the Russian forces.

Russian occupiers continue intense attacks in the Toretsk area of the Donetsk region, persisting in their attempts to capture the strategically important city. Intense urban battles are ongoing in the area, with the enemy suffering significant personnel losses.

Why Toretsk is important for the Russian Armed Forces, explained the press secretary of the operational-tactical group (OTG) of the "Luhansk" forces Anastasiya Bobovnikova during a television marathon broadcast.

She noted that Toretsk holds significant media and psychological importance for the enemy, explaining the persistence of Russian forces in this area.

"The enemy does not stop their offensive actions. Toretsk is important for them. This city has significance for them from a media and, rather, psychological point of view. And heavy urban battles are taking place there at present," she stated.

The spokesperson also emphasized that Russian troops are suffering significant losses among their personnel. The enemy continues to use the tactic of "meat assaults," overwhelming the positions of Ukrainian Defence Forces with waves of infantry in an attempt to break through the defensive lines.

"Currently, Russians are losing a significant number of personnel in the city, as they bombard the positions of the Defence Forces with ‘meat’ in an attempt to break through the defense," Bobovnikova added.

Thus, the situation in the Toretsk area remains tense. Ukrainian forces continue to hold their positions, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.
