On the eve of Christmas, Ukraine is experiencing relatively warm weather, more reminiscent of autumn than winter. However, according to meteorologists, a significant drop in temperature is expected before the New Year. As for snow on New Year’s Eve, Ukrainians might not see it.
This was reported by the well-known meteorologist Ihor Kibalchych.
According to him, most of the precipitation is expected in the form of rain, and the temperature will be above 0 degrees, with the snow cover likely being completely absent, except for certain areas in the western part and the Carpathians.
"Therefore, the New Year celebration may happen without snow, which, however, is no longer unusual in our times," he noted.

The temperature will drop
From December 26 to 31, there will be a gradual drop in temperature: at night to -1…-7 degrees below zero, during the day to -3…+3 degrees above zero. In the high mountainous parts of the Carpathians, temperatures at night are expected to be around -5...-10 degrees below zero, and during the day -2...-7 degrees below zero. In Crimea and the Odesa region, "positive" temperatures will persist until the end of December.
