Physics, biology, and chemistry will no longer be mandatory, - Ministry of Education and Science

Physics, biology, and chemistry will no longer be required for students in grades 10, 11, and 12 in Ukrainian schools.

This is stated by the Ministry of Education and Science.

World literature, world history, civic education, and geography will also cease to be mandatory.

Mandatory subjects will remain Ukrainian language and literature, Ukrainian history, English language, mathematics, physical education, and "Protection of Ukraine".

These changes will come into effect in 2027.

Additionally, a system of individual subject selection will be implemented.

The Ministry of Education and Science notes that "there are many specialized options".

It also mentions "three thematic groups that will form the basis for developing educational profiles":

⁃ Literary-language: Ukrainian language and literature, foreign languages and literatures, etc.

⁃ STEM: natural sciences, IT, mathematics, etc.

⁃ Social-humanitarian: history, law, psychology, sociology, etc.
