Media named the MP who receives a pension of almost 200,000 hryvnias

The highest pension among members of parliament is received by 74-year-old Vasyl Nimchenko, a former member of OPFL, and now with the "Platform for Life and Peace". Every month, the member of parliament receives 192,136 UAH from the Main Pension Fund in Kyiv.

This is stated in the declarations published by members of parliament on the NACP website. Nimchenko is the only member of parliament who monthly updates his declaration due to the large size of his pension. It is worth noting that Nimchenko retired under the judges’ law, so officially his payment is called "lifetime monetary maintenance".

In January 2025, Vasyl Nimchenko received a pension of 192,136 UAH, the same amount he declared in December of the previous year and the preceding months of 2024.

In his 2023 declaration, the member of parliament indicated an annual pension amounting to 2,243,481 UAH, with a monthly average of 186,956 UAH received from the Pension Fund. This is almost three times more than Nimchenko’s parliamentary salary.

From 1996 to 2005, Vasyl Nimchenko served as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, and from 1996 to 1999, as the deputy head of the Court. After 2005, he was the permanent representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

In Ukraine, from January 1 to October 1, 2024, the judge’s pension increased from 99,837 to 106,057 UAH (referring to the average amount of payment). Thus, "servants of Themis" in well-deserved retirement will receive almost 6.2 thousand UAH more. However, in some cases, the amount of pensions can be significantly higher. For example, according to declarations, retired Supreme Court judge Bohdan Poshva, according to his declaration, annually receives a pension of 262 thousand UAH. Retired judge of the Zhytomyr Administrative Court of Appeal Anzhela Zhyznevska received a pension of 1,997,741 UAH for 2023. This amounts to 166.4 thousand UAH monthly.
