12% of draft dodgers who ignored in absentia summonses received fines

Only 12% of those avoiding summonses in absentia received fines.

In the TRC, it was explained that issuing fines is too costly for them, so they continue to detain people on the streets.

This was reported by Deputy Buzhanskyi following a meeting of two parliamentary committees, where the reasons for the continuation of the "busification" were discussed.

"During my inquiry to the Ministry of Defence and the joint meeting of the two committees, it was revealed that fines were issued to approximately 12% of those who evaded summonses, about 45% of evaders were declared wanted. In the explanations, we were informed that the military commissar could not issue many protocols due to the high cost - 82 hryvnias for each registered letter required to notify about the fine. We cannot send reinforcements to Pokrovsk because the letters are too expensive, that is the conclusion," writes Buzhanskyi.
