In Lviv, law enforcement officers detained a man who organized the illegal transfer of conscripts across the border for 13,000 dollars.
This was reported by the press service of the Lviv police.
A 32-year-old resident of Lviv offered to help a conscripted citizen avoid mobilization by promising employment in a position that allowed for a deferment and the possibility of traveling abroad. However, the client’s aim was not to return to Ukraine, but to remain in the European Union.
On January 17, law enforcement officers detained the organizer after receiving a part of the agreed sum – 6,000 dollars from the client.
“The detainee has been informed of the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 332 (Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for a punishment of imprisonment for a term of seven to nine years with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property,” the police report states.
The suspect faces up to nine years of imprisonment. The pre-trial investigation continues.
