In Kyiv, police officers detained a man who, during investigative actions in his apartment, inflicted stab wounds on an employee of the State Bureau of Investigation and fled.

It was established that employees of the State Bureau of Investigation were conducting investigative actions at the residence of a 28-year-old Kyiv resident, suspected of committing a crime. During communication with law enforcement officers, the man grabbed a kitchen knife and suddenly attacked the SBI investigator, inflicting stab wounds on him. After that, he fled.
Police officers, with the involvement of special forces from the Operational Sudden Action Corps, detained the attacker.
The injured law enforcement officer was hospitalized.
The investigator, under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Specialized Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Central Region, charged the suspect under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempted murder of a law enforcement officer in connection with the performance of official duties by this officer).
The court took the man into custody without the right to bail. He faces up to fifteen years in prison or life imprisonment.
