Russian media, citing sources in the Kremlin, confirmed that Vladimir Putin had an unofficial conversation with Donald Trump.
The talks were not agreed upon in advance, so there were no official statements from either side. According to journalists, Trump wanted to personally clarify Putin’s position on peaceful resolution before possible contacts with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The issue of who might represent Ukraine in the negotiations was also discussed, as the Kremlin continues to claim Zelenskyy’s "illegitimacy," while Kyiv categorically rejects such assertions.
Additionally, the parties touched upon issues of global security and the possible participation of Russia and China in a nuclear deal with Iran. According to sources, preparation for a personal meeting between Putin and Trump was also discussed.
