Zelenskyy: The United States has never seen and never wanted Ukraine in NATO

The United States of America has never seen and never wanted to see Ukraine in NATO. This is not only President Donald Trump’s position, but the general policy of the USA.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during the Munich Security Conference.

"The USA has never seen us in NATO and has never wanted to see us in NATO. I have never heard during conversations that we will be in NATO. Never. And this is not a question for Trump. This is a question of US policy," Zelenskyy said.

However, according to him, "this does not mean that we cannot change this policy."

"If NATO is not today, then we will ask tomorrow, there is no problem," the president added.

According to Zelenskyy, today an alternative could be the creation of NATO in Ukraine.

"This will mean that we need to strengthen our army, double the number of soldiers. We need more than 200 brigades… In Russia, there are 220 real brigades, and they are twice as big as us today," the head of state noted.
