Since the beginning of the day as of 16:00 on Thursday, February 20, 59 combat clashes have occurred on the front. The situation is currently hottest in the Pokrovsk direction and in the Kursk region, where the enemy dropped ten precision-guided bombs and carried out 201 artillery shellings.
Ukrainian warriors are stopping the enemy, holding the lines, and disrupting the plans of the Russians. This is stated in the operational report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy Strikes
According to the report, during the day, the enemy inflicted artillery shelling from the territory of Russia on the areas of Popivka, Ponomarenky, Fotovizh in the Sumy region; Krasnyi Khutir in the Chernihiv region; Tymofiivka, Lemishchyne in the Kharkiv region.
They also carried out airstrikes in the areas of Hremyach in the Chernihiv region and Klynova-Noselivka in the Kharkiv region.
The Situation on the Frontline on February 20
According to the General Staff, in the Kharkiv direction, the enemy tried to attack the positions of the Defence Forces three times in the areas of Vovchansk and Zapadne, one clash as of 16:00 is ongoing.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy is conducting two attacks in the area of Zahryzove, and fighting continues.
In the Lyman direction, the Defence Forces repelled an attack near Yampolivka.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attacked twice in the area of Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the aggressor tried to advance twice in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Vasyukivka, with one battle ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the invaders attacked five times in the area of Toretsk. The defenders of Ukraine repelled one attack, and fighting continues.
In the Pokrovsk direction, 14 incidents of varying intensity occurred near the localities of Promin, Pokrovsk, Serhiyivka, Nadiivka, Bohdanivka, Sribne, Andriivka, Ulakly, with one ongoing.
In the Novopavlivsk direction, the enemy attacked ten times in the areas of Kostiantynopol, Rozdolne, Novocheretuvate, and Pryvilne, with eight fights ongoing.
In the Hulyaipole direction, the enemy attacked three times in the areas of Novopil and Novosilka, with one battle ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, the occupants tried to advance three times in the areas of Novoandriivka and Stepove. Two battles continue.
In the Dniprovskyi direction, the enemy did not conduct active offensive actions.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders are repelling three attacks, with 14 clashes recorded in total. The enemy carried out eight airstrikes, dropping ten precision-guided bombs on populated areas and Defence Forces positions.
Additionally, they carried out 201 artillery shellings, including two from MLRS.
