The HACC seized the apartment and car of the head of the capital’s police, Nerukh

The head of the Department for Arms Control of the National Police of Kyiv, Yuriy Nerukh, lost property due to a civil lawsuit by the SAPO.

The High Anti-Corruption Court civilly confiscated a Volkswagen Touareg car and an apartment in Kyiv from the head of the Department for Arms Control of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the capital, Yuriy Nerukh, reports “Slovo i Dilo”.

"On February 24, 2025, a panel of judges of the HACC satisfied the civil lawsuit of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office against the head of the Department for Arms Control of the National Police in Kyiv and his wife regarding the recognition of assets as unjustified and their confiscation in favor of the state. The court recognized the assets belonging to the official’s wife as unjustified and confiscated them in favor of the state, namely an apartment in Kyiv with a total area of 94.8 square meters and a 2016 Volkswagen Touareg car," the HACC decision states.

The SAPO prosecutor filed a lawsuit against Nerukh, requesting the confiscation of a 2016 Volkswagen Touareg car and an apartment in Kyiv with an area of almost 95 square meters valued at 3.3 million UAH. According to the prosecutor, the police officer’s wife did not have legal income to purchase this property. These assets were seized.

The HACC also seized the property of the deputy head of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv, Taras Poliyenko, as part of a civil case on property confiscation. The SAPO filed a lawsuit for the civil confiscation of the assets of Poliyenko, his mother-in-law, and father-in-law, namely: an apartment in the residential complex "Zarichnyi" with a total area of 220.5 square meters and two parking spaces each measuring 13.8 square meters with a total value of 3.67 million UAH, as well as income from their sale amounting to almost 5 million UAH. The prosecutor also asked to satisfy the request for securing the lawsuit by imposing a seizure on this real estate, as well as on other assets of the defendants that match their value. This concerned a land plot of 0.12 hectares in the Brovary district of Kyiv region and a residential house with a total area of 134.5 square meters.
