This was stated by US Secretary of State Rubio in an interview with Breitbart News.
"We are trying to get these guys to the negotiating table. Unfortunately, Ukraine did not agree, and they wanted to move forward on their own," he said.
Rubio also reported that in the event of conflict resolution in Ukraine, the US would like to discuss not only the issue of frozen Russian assets with the Russian Federation but also the affected American companies.
"This will be part of a broader discussion on how to restart our relations," said the US Secretary of State.
