Zelenskyy removed Hnatov from the duties of Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, dismissed Andriy Hnatov from the position of Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported with reference to the decree on the website of the Office of the President.

Hnatov took charge of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine exactly six months ago, on June 26, 2024. In this position, he replaced Yuriy Sodol.

On January 26, 2025, Zelenskyy announced that Hnatov, who had previously been the Commander of the "Khortytsia" Operational and Strategic Group of Forces and simultaneously the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was appointed Deputy Chief of the General Staff. "His task is to bring a new level of preparation for operational headquarters and a higher quality of interaction between headquarters and the front," the president said at that time.
