Acting head of the outpatient department sentenced for influence peddling


The court found the acting head of the consultative polyclinic department of the state institution "Institute of Neurosurgery named after Academician A.P. Romodanov of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" guilty of abuse of influence.

This is reported by "Judiciary Reporter" with reference to the verdict dated February 21.

On January 31, 2024, the official received an unlawful reward for influencing employees of the KMPE "Center for Primary Medical and Sanitary Assistance No. 3" of the Svyatoshinsky district of Kyiv, KMPE "Kyiv City Psychoneurological Dispensary No. 4" and the state institution "Institute of Neurosurgery named after Academician A.P. Romodanov".

A man underwent a medical examination by doctors who issued him certificates with the necessary diagnosis, based on which the accused promised to influence the staff of the Kyiv City Medical-Social Expertise Center so that they would approve his second group of disability. The accused accompanied the "client" to the doctors. The verdict states that he underwent a formal examination by a neurologist.

Eventually, the accused issued the man a conclusion from a doctor of the state institution "Institute of Neurosurgery named after Academician A.P. Romodanov" with a diagnosis required for the disability group. After this, she received 8,000 dollars.

In court, the woman admitted her guilt. She explained that the citizen contacted her as a doctor. At the beginning of December 2023, he asked her if it was possible to make consultative conclusions for obtaining disability, to which she agreed. Later, she helped him with documents for obtaining the II group of disability, for which she received money. She claims she committed the crime because of a difficult financial situation, her mother’s illness, and the need to pay for her treatment. She sincerely repents for her actions. The court sentenced her to a fine of 51,000 hryvnias.
