Arakhamia denied information about preparations for the presidential elections

The head of the "Servant of the People" faction, David Arakhamia, denied information about preparations for the presidential elections in Ukraine, which was earlier reported by The Economist magazine.

In a comment to Suspilne, he stated that no such meetings were held with the President.

"Not only did I not participate in such a meeting, but I can also assure you that it did not happen at all. No elections are being prepared, no preparations are being conducted," Arakhamia stressed.

According to him, the Ukrainian authorities are, on the contrary, working to calm politicians who regularly spread rumors about possible elections.

"For two years now, we’ve been told that elections are just around the corner. But this hasn’t happened," he added.

Arakhamia also reminded that all parliamentary parties and groups signed a document in 2023 stating that elections should be held six months after the cancellation of martial law. According to him, this position remains unchanged.
