The occupiers have resumed armored assaults near Pokrovsk after a multi-month pause, - battalion commander

As reported by the commander of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade, the Russians have already moved part of their troops from the Kursk region towards Pokrovsk, and their further increase is expected.

On the Pokrovsk direction, after a several-month pause, Russia has resumed the active use of armored vehicles.

This was announced by Andriy Nazarenko, commander of the unmanned systems battalion of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, on the air of "Kyiv24".

According to the military officer, the brigade has been holding the defense on this front for over two months.

"As soon as we returned to this front, the enemy used only manpower. The Russians hoped to advance further with its help alone and did not use armored vehicles here for several months. When we gave a decent response for a month, the enemy began using lightly armored vehicles, and then tanks. In the last two weeks, the enemy has used over 20 tanks in our direction. And the enemy has lost about 20 tanks. That is, we destroyed them on the battlefield. Therefore, I would say that tanks have been used quite actively in our direction over the last week or two," said Nazarenko.

He noted that the Russians have already transferred some troops from the Kursk region to the Pokrovsk direction and are actively deploying them.

"And we understand that the enemy will continue to build up its forces. We are doing everything to give the enemy a decent response and to ensure that all its involved reserves are destroyed and halted," added the military officer.
