The shadow segment is growing and by 2025 may exceed 45%.
Up to 45% of Ukrainian retail trade is in the shadows. Out of more than 2 trillion UAH of annual turnover, only 529 billion accounts for large networks such as ATB, "Silpo", "Avrora", "Fora", Rozetka, Novus, Metro, EVA, Varus, "Velyka Kyshenya", as well as "Epicentr", "Allo", Comfy, Watsons, Prostor, "MegaMarket".
The rest is small and medium-sized businesses, a significant portion of which operate without paying taxes.
